If you are able to arrange a fund raising event please let me know so that we can publicise it for you in the Diary of Events on this website. We will need :

What where when, including approximate end time

How much, that is, admission charges?

Do we need to book - if so how and with whom?

How to find it, including a post code for the Sat navigators

A picture of the venue if possible

If you have produced a poster please may we have a copy so we can offer it as a PDF file that can be downloaded and used to publicise your event.

If you are kind enough (fit enough, mad enough) to run a marathon, do a cycle ride, a parachute jump, organise a 24 hour Tiddly Winks tournament or ..... please let us have what, where, when, and we will help publicise your event and provide a sponsorship form. The simple way to collect sponsorship from anywhere in the world  is by using the JustGiving website. With sufficient notice we can arrange things to maximise the benefit of Gift Aid refunds - please contact us before the event.

The Rosemary Foundation has it's own Navy!

Our very good friends from Allianz are at it again. Susie and three friends are entering the world famous Rother Raft Race on 29th August, starting in Cowdray Park, Midhurst.

Please click on the link below to give them the encouragement they deserve, and take a note to bring the family to cheer them on - it's a really good day out.

Team - Susie Harris, Caroline Price, Andréa Forster and Natacha Payne

They write:

We have decided in a moment of madness to take part in the Rother Raft Race on Sunday 29th August 2010. As most of you could guess, we are not keen rowers, kayakers or white water rafters. So this is going to be a real challenge for us all and we are going take part dressed as Sailor Girls....

The race starts at Cowdray Ruins, Midhurst and finishes 3.75 miles away at Lods Bridge, Selham. There are some deceptively deep areas along the way and a big stepped weir which could prove interesting.

The reason we are doing this is to raise money for The Rosemary Foundation in Petersfield.

They are a fantastic organisation that offer care to terminally ill patients, suffering not necessarily from cancer but from other chronically debilitating illnesses as well.  The cost of running such facilities is unbelievable and they rely heavily on support from fundraising and donations.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Please take the time to visit my JustGiving page. http://www.justgiving.com/Hello-Sailor

The Allianz team did very well, are still raising money, Allianz have promised to double what they raise and .... they didn't fall in! How about that! Read all about it on our News and Pictures page.

In Memory of Ken Neatby

In Memory of Ken Neatby

In the week before Christmas we heard from James Gurd that in memory of his Granddad Ken Neatby he has set up a JustGiving webpage in order to raise funds for The Rosemary Foundation.

On his Just Giving page James writes:
"I've chosen to support the wonderful Rosemary Foundation (previously the Sue Ryder Home) in 2010. This is a Charity close to my heart. At the end of 2008 my Grandad was diagnosed with lung cancer at the ripe age of 87. In Feb 2009 the doctors told us it had spread to his brain. The brain cancer brought a quick end to his life, in a matter of weeks.

The Rosemary Foundation gave my Grandad and family incredible and selfless support during that time, helping care for him so he could bid us au revoir with dignity from the comfort of his own home, the home he had shared with my Nan for so many years. I can't thank them enough for the care and consideration they showed my Grandad and I know that he will be eternally grateful.

As with many local Charities, they are not-for profit and self-funded. Every penny counts and helps the wonderful nurses support families like mine. I've set myself the target of raising £1,000 by the end of 2010 and will be running several organises races to achieve this.

To follow my running progress, please stop by my blog at http://eibsocialmedia.blogspot.com/

Thanks and please do tell people you know so we can spread the word

james"

The Foundation is very grateful to James, both for his kind words and his kind offer of support. To visit his Just Giving Page just click here:
